The programme of the youth exchange activity is the result of good cooperation between partner youth groups and reflect how the partnership understands the quality of the youth exchange.
The youth exchange should be done by/with young people and group leaders role is to ensure that programme is balanced, gives space for all youth groups to contribute and it is related to the interests of young people.
The activity has the following STEPS:
Review the Task Brief (attached below)
Take a big flipchart paper (A1), divide it into 9 parts: arrival day, 7 working days and departure day.
Use A6 size post-it notes or cut A6 cards from the ordinary paper. Think of what elements should be in the programme (relate to the Task Brief) and place them to the Exchange programme.
Discuss with your team:
how well is it balanced?
how much did you manage to have all essential aspects included?
how much it provides space for all partner groups to contribute equally?
Now go around and look at how others designed the programme. What similarities and differences did you notice?
Debrief individually and with others - what makes a programme to be well balanced and quality one?
This badge shows my experience in designing and balancing the programme of the youth exchange activity. I tried out developing a programme based on the given example and shared it with others.
This activity was part of the international training course "Cherry on the cake" which took place in Tirana, Albania in 2019 November.
